LazyCure 4.0 – In Russian

I’m glad to announce the LazyCure 4.0 release! What’s new:

• Support of Russian language
• Possibility to switch between English/Russian

Improved:

• Twitter authentification method has been changed to safer – password and username are not stored any more.

Fixed:

• Post to twitter

Known issues:

• Crashes when run via Mono on Linux/MacOS during dialogs opening.

With Russian language support it becomes possible to translate it to other languages too with little efforts. E.g. if we need X hours to implement Russian, we will need only X/10 hours to implement French, German, Japan, Ukrainian, etc.

LazyCure 4.0 technical details

LazyCure project has been moved to .NET 4.0 framework so it’ll be easier to support in future and also it should work slightly faster. Recommended IDE – any versions of VS2010 (express edition is enough). The is an issue with mono – it does not support fully 4.0 version of Windows.Forms – that’s why it’s crushing due to “Bug 648403 – SplitContainer does not implement ISupportInitialize“.

For working with twitter, Twitterizer library is used now. The twitter authentication method was moved to OAuth – that’s saver method that was used before, because your password (and even login) to twitter is not stored locally, so could NOT be stolen by virus. And you also can allow/deny access to your twitter account from LazyCure any time via native Twitter web interface.
